History

The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise was chartered in January 1989 and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cornwall.

It was the first club in District 7040 to be chartered with women members.

During its first 20 years, The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise has contributed over one million dollars to a variety of community projects:

Agape Centre, Aquatic Centre, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Blood Donor Clinics, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Institute for the Blind, Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Red Cross, Children's Christmas Fund, Hospice, Cornwall Community Hospital, Laleche League, Ontario SPCA, Tri-County Literacy, Cornwall Curling Club, Lamoureux Park Playground, Mad Hatter Productions, Paliative Care, Senior's Day Away.
