The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise kicked off its new fundraiser,The Amazing Rotary Rally, on Saturday, June 7th with the kind of great cooperation that made it a most successful venture. Teams for four competed for bragging rights by hitting the streets of Cornwall in search of landmarks, answers to local history questions and challenges that were recorded in photos.  The teams had 6 hours to complete their tasks and return to the Agora Centre (Nativity Hall) with their treasures, their answers and their photos. A lengthy list of activities provided by the organizers encouraged teams to visit our sponsors for photo ops or to discover the cost of a product and otherwise draw attention to the generosity and support we so greatly appreciated receiving from the Cornwall and Lancaster business and and professional communities. The funds raised will be used to support projects of the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise that benefit humanity within our community.

Along the way, teams were asked to solicit contributions to the End Polio Now campaign for the eradication of polio worldwide. The teams did well! With matching money from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the total was sufficient to enable the immunization of 1500 children!

The goal of the event was to have fun, to raise funds and to provide Cornwall with a novel way of sp
ending a day and helping the community at the same time.
The Bragging Rights for the Amazing Rotary Rally 2014 went to the team of Justin Wheeler, Nancy Paquette, Melanie Paquette, and Russel Racine
