Community Support

The wellbeing of our citizens takes many forms and is of paramount importance.

During the pandemic, assisting to provide food security and safe shelter were, and  continue to be,  priorities.

Ongoing support of mental health programs, literacy and assorted other community endeavors to enhance our community are important and being supported in various ways. There are ongoing education and awareness programs regarding the ongoing problem of human trafficking.

Our Programs for Young People

Youth programs are intended to look to the future by providing opportunities for new experiences and life skills.

These programs encompass a wide variety of experiences ranging from in-school activities one’s home community to an opportunity to spend a year living abroad.

There are several “Adventures “ programs of 3-6 days duration that focus upon specific interests i.e. citizenship, the environment, history, high tech and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award).

EarlyAct and Interact are in-school groups that focus upon volunteerism, leadership and citizenship and function in partnership with school staff and Rotarians.  Dictionaries 4Life for grade 3 compliments EarlyAct.
Both Academic–year and Short Term Youth Exchange programs provide an opportunity for a teen to experience living with a family in another culture.

Rotaract is for young adults. Rotaract and Rotary clubs share the same core values. Projects and activities may be undertaken independently or in partnership with a Rotary club.

PolioPlus
As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've helped to reduced polio cases by more than 99.9 percent.

It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries  where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free.

If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could return and paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

We are partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO, CDC and UNICEF. Worldwide we have donated over 1 Billion dollars toward providing education, immunizations, and healthcare to wipe out this deadly disease.

 PolioPlus is setting a standard worldwide as the strongest model of public-private cooperation as we pursue this  humanitarian goal.

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years, and we’ve made incredible progress in the fight to rid the world of it forever.  End Polio Now

International Service

International Service involves undertaking projects and forming friendships beyond our borders. Currently our club is actively participating in projects in Ghana, El Salvador, Lebanon, Colombia and India.

Like most international projects, our projects embrace most of Rotary's seven areas of focus to varying degrees depending upon the needs that have been identified by the people who will benefit.

Rotary has identified seven areas of focus for projects for which The Rotary Foundation may assist financially. These areas are:
  • Promoting peace;
  • Fighting disease;
  • Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene;
  • Saving mothers and children;
  • Supporting basic education;
  • Growing local economies;
  • Protecting the environment.

Diversity and Inclusion
Rotary is a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.  We believe there is strength in differing perspectives and ideas, and that this strength is what allows us to make those positive, impactful changes.

Our ongoing goal is to grow in diversity, and build a membership that reflects both our local and global communities. We embrace diversity and celebrate the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

We commit to being open and inclusive, being fair to all, building goodwill, and benefitting our communities.  We offer unique opportunities for people with  all kinds of interests and skills.

Everyone is welcome in Rotary...... We invite you to join us to learn more.
