Welcome

 

The 2024 program is slated for September 9 -12, 2024.  We have commitments from 8 Rotarian host families who will welcome the Adventurers into their home.

 

Students are to be sponsored by a Rotary Club which will pay the sponsorship fee of $550 (payment to be made to the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise). The sponsoring club has the responsibility of selecting its Adventurer, ensuring that the student understands the expectations of the program and ensuring that the Adventurer has transportation to and from Cornwall.

 

Students must have completed 2 years of high school science (grade 10 in Ontario), be at least 16 years of age, and have an avid interest in Environmental Science as they will be working with the scientists at The River Institute for Environmental Science.  Each day of the adventure will start at 9:00 am and finish at approximately 4:00 pm.  Each day, participants are to bring their lunch as well as all necessities for the day with them as the program is intense; each lunch hour period will have a guest speaker on some aspect of environment science.

 

The deadline for applications is June 30th - Application forms and permission forms (2) are to be found on the home page of the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise and should be sent to Katie Burke at brkcornwall@gmail.com.

 

There is room for 8 Adventurers and the expectation is that there will be one candidate per club.  Selection is made on a first-come, first-served basis.
 

If a club wishes to send the applications of two Adventurers, the club is asked to identify #1 and #2 and, if there is room, the second selection will be accommodated.
