What is RYLA?
 
Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts around the world. It is entirely volunteer-run with many organizers and counselors being past RYLA delegates themselves. Participants attend RYLA with the financial support of a local Rotary club who “award” youth with a chance to participate in this once in a lifetime experience. Youth are selected based on the demonstration of leadership potential and a desire to be of service to their local and global communities. After RYLA, participants are required to present to their sponsor club based on their experience.

"RYLA 2022 was in-person from May 27 - May 29 at RKY Camp on beautiful Eagle Lake one hour north of Kingston - https://www.rkycamp.org/. There were 40 participants who came from across the district. 22 clubs sponsored participants including 7 from Quebec, 7 from New York state and 26 from eastern Ontario. As has become the custom, there were twice as many girls as boys and we had a range of cultures, languages and countries (including an exchange student from Germany) in our midst. Yeah DEI! Thanks to the RYLA Alumni, Rotaractors and Rotarians who developed and led another very successful program."
