Project Outline & Request

  • We are in the process of putting together an application for a Global Grant that would revitalize/repair a school building and equip it as a vocational school where at least 4 trades (2 for women and 2 for men) would be taught.
  • The needs assessment has been completed and the ministry of education has committed to providing the teachers.
  • The last time Peter was in Ghana, the request for help with getting this project up and running came from the community and it is strongly supported by the Rotary Club of Sunyani Central, a club we have been partnering with for almost ten years.
  • The total cost for this project is ~$50,000 and will train 120 skilled trades people (masonry, carpentry, fashion design and hair styling). Each class has a capacity of 30 students in a three year program.
  • As this is a Global Grant, it will be eligible to receive funds from registered Canadian charities and generate Paul Harris points for donors.
